Hi, my name is Jim Aitchison and I am a cartoonist and illustrator and have lived and worked in Norfolk for eleven years.

I generate both my own art projects as well as undertaking commissions for clients. The latter include illustrations for advertising campaigns such as those carried out for Kings Lynn Art Centre on behalf of Kings Lynn tourism. I have also illustrated story books for children.

My own work is for both exhibition and sale. Some are of a cartoon type and the characters and situations are based, mainly, on observation, and interpreted in a humorous way. I use the illustrative style for alternative subject that of buildings, and the interest here is the shapes and shadows that the subject creates.

Over the years my work has been exhibited widely in the Eastern Region and some can be viewed in ‘@the gallery’, Georges Road, Dereham, Norfolk.

I am an accredited Arts Award advisor at both Bronze and Silver levels. The Arts Awards is a scheme, primarily for young people and is supported by the Arts Council and trinity College, London.
